Marisel Losa

Marisel Losa

Healthcare Leader. Community Strategist. Trusted Advisor.

Marisel Losa is a bilingual Latina leader who has spent her career working alongside Hispanic and other historically underserved communities to close gaps in health, access, and opportunity. She helps mission-driven organizations turn complex community challenges into funded, measurable, and sustainable results.

For more than 30 years, Marisel has led nonprofits, statewide coalitions, and public health initiatives across Florida and South Carolina. Much of her work has been rooted in communities where language, culture, and trust matter just as much as policy and data. She understands how decisions are made at executive and system levels and works to ensure underrepresented populations are never treated as an afterthought.

She has served as a CEO, founder, coalition builder, and legislative strategist, helping organizations secure recurring funding, design culturally responsive programs, align cross-sector partners, and build systems that last. Marisel also led the development of community data platforms such as Miami Matters and Greenwood Counts to provide partners with shared visibility into community conditions and measurable progress.

Through Community Imperatives, Marisel provides fractional leadership and strategic guidance to organizations that need senior-level expertise without adding permanent overhead. Whether strengthening governance, guiding statewide initiatives, aligning partners, securing funding, or translating data into stories funders understand, her focus remains consistent: elevate community voice, protect equity, and deliver results that change lives.

A Legacy of Impact

Marisel Losa brings a proven record of securing multi-million-dollar funding, leading complex collaborations, and building systems that expand healthcare access and improve community outcomes. Today, she helps organizations translate that experience into practical strategies that strengthen operations, increase funding readiness, and deliver measurable results.

As founder of the Florida Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, Marisel united providers statewide to serve uninsured Floridians and secured $9.5 million in recurring state funding, creating a lasting foundation for vulnerable communities.

She later served as President and CEO of the Health Council of South Florida, where she guided regional health initiatives, informed policy decisions, and aligned cross-sector partners around data-driven solutions.

Her leadership has been recognized through several major honors, including the March of Dimes Humanitarian of the Year Award, Hispanic Women of Distinction Charity Award, Women That Shine Award from the League of Women Voters, and the South Florida Healthcare Executive Forum Community Service Award.

Marisel also led the development of community data platforms such as Miami Matters and Greenwood Counts, strengthening transparency, accountability, and collaboration across sectors.

Her legacy reflects steady leadership grounded in equity, community voice, and results that make a lasting difference.
